I love summer vacation.

I love that Ethan doesn't absolutely have to be out of bed at a certain time in the morning.

I love that homework doesn't have to be turned in, lunches don't have to be made....

I love staying in pajamas as long as we want.

I love that we don't have to have a plan for the day in order to get everything done on 'the list'.

However....right about now....I no longer have any idea, whatsoever, what to do with these kids....

Not a one.

Completely dry.

The heat wave isn't helping matters.  Its hard to muster up the energy to go outside.

So, this kind of made me think of a good friend of mine.

He's an activities director for an ENTIRE city.

AND it's a rather large city, not one of these little rinky-dink incorporated, master-planned things that I live in.  It's an honest to goodness city, with some history and everything.

AND... he's super-duper good at it too!  Which is really not surprising.  He's super-good at lots of stuff, AND he's a fabulous person with a gorgeous wife AND his little boy is truly one of the cutest kids on the planet....

I'm pretty sure that he'll never run out of ideas for what to do with the munchkin in the middle of summer.

So...(where was I going with this?)...oh yeah.

My super cool friend (Mark) called me up and asked me to bake some cookies to match the city's logo for their summerfest celebration.  Woo-hoo!

How cute is that little sunny face!  Couldn't wait to get started!
(and this also meant I could legitimately tell the kiddos they would just have to entertain themselves for awhile!)

Look how happy they are!!!

Hope everyone liked them!

(now back to those munchkins...where the heck did they go?)

My First Wedding!

I completed my first wedding order over the weekend!!!

My girlfriend Lisa (My Flower Girl) did the flowers for this wedding and the couple ordered matching monogramed cookies for their favors!

I made 'Mrs' and 'Mr' cookies as a surprise for the bride and groom.

I was nervous about getting the perfect 'deep coral' color.
I think it actually matched pretty well!

Here is some of Lisa's beautiful floral work!

Not sure who did the cake....
But Lisa made the table so pretty!
(amazing view!)

Thanks Lisa!  Can't wait to work together again!!

Go Mustangs!!!

"Hey honey, those are neat...y'know those aren't the colors, right?"

"They're supposed to be navy and silver.  I know its really grey, but I can't make metallic icing..."

", no. Navy and orange..."

"What?  I'm sure she said navy, silver and white.  Here, look at the cheerleaders..."

"....aren't they a little young to be cheerleaders for the Broncos?"

"Broncos?  Aren't they mustangs?"

"The Denver football team is the Broncos."

"These are for the Trabuco Hills High School Freshman Pep Squad.  Nikki made the team and is having a pool party for all the girls...."

Congratulations Nikki!!!  Can't wait to see you cheering on the sidelines!!

A Very Beachy Birthday!

A very pretty 'tweenager' I know recently became a full-fledged Teenager!!!

Happy 13th Birthday Peyton!

I had the honor of making her birthday cookies-yippee!

Miss Peyton loves the beach and all things sparkly and girlie (just my kinda girl!).

for the birthday girl....
someday I'll figure out how to stick real candles in here.

I guess you could just bite off the flame instead of blowing....
Make a Wish!

Here come those sassy bikini girls!

the orange crush bikini....

"What do you think?  Should I wear my pink bikini and green flip-flops
with my new monogrammed towel...."

"....or the green bikini and white flip-flops?
Wait, I'll go try the other one on again!"

"She wore an itsy-bitsy, teeny-weeny..."
sorry, couldn't help myself.

It's just not a 'Lizy B' platter without a few letter cookies.
Had to have some cupcakes too.

Hope you had a great day Peyton!!

Happy, Happy 13th Birthday!!!
