Summerfest

I love summer vacation.

I love that Ethan doesn't absolutely have to be out of bed at a certain time in the morning.

I love that homework doesn't have to be turned in, lunches don't have to be made....

I love staying in pajamas as long as we want.

I love that we don't have to have a plan for the day in order to get everything done on 'the list'.

However....right about now....I no longer have any idea, whatsoever, what to do with these kids....

Seriously...none.

Not a one.

Completely dry.

The heat wave isn't helping matters.  Its hard to muster up the energy to go outside.

So, this kind of made me think of a good friend of mine.

He's an activities director for an ENTIRE city.

AND it's a rather large city, not one of these little rinky-dink incorporated, master-planned things that I live in.  It's an honest to goodness city, with some history and everything.

AND... he's super-duper good at it too!  Which is really not surprising.  He's super-good at lots of stuff, AND he's a fabulous person with a gorgeous wife AND his little boy is truly one of the cutest kids on the planet....

I'm pretty sure that he'll never run out of ideas for what to do with the munchkin in the middle of summer.

So...(where was I going with this?)...oh yeah.

My super cool friend (Mark) called me up and asked me to bake some cookies to match the city's logo for their summerfest celebration.  Woo-hoo!

How cute is that little sunny face!  Couldn't wait to get started!
(and this also meant I could legitimately tell the kiddos they would just have to entertain themselves for awhile!)

Look how happy they are!!!

Hope everyone liked them!

Thanks for stopping by,

Lizy B

(now back to those munchkins...where the heck did they go?)

  3. love it! super adorable.

i feel the same way about summer, but for some reason, we are still busy...as much as i try not to overschedule, it always happens

but its FUN busy -- no homework and no certain bed time is FUN.
