Bridal Shower Crown and Glass Slipper Cookies!

What kind of cookies do you make for a bride who loves Cinderella?
Crowns of course!!!

White for the bride and pink for her lovely bridesmaids!

...and if you love Cinderella, what else do you need?

Glass Slippers of course!

These days, brides are much better prepared than Cinderella was.

They've learned, don't ever get caught with just one slipper!

Pack extra!!!

(Glass Slipper cookies were favors for bridal shower guests!)

Congratulations Krysalynn!

See you at the wedding!

Bridal Shower Monogram Cookies!

A few weeks ago my husband and I went to our cousin's fabulous wedding.

A few weeks before that....

I made cookies for her bridal shower!

(with special thanks to Arty McGoo for her lavender flower tutorial!)

Sweet and simple for our beautiful Kristina!

(love that lady!)

There she is with all her bridesmaids!

We don't mess around when it comes to bridal showers.

There were close to 80 ladies there that day.

That's 80 cookie favors, each with two sprigs of lavender.

Each sprig had an average of 30 little buds on it...

Wanna do the math?

That would be 4,800 little lavender buds....give or take.

Oh my.

No wonder my hand was tired!

Congratulations Kristina and Owen!!!

Faith, Hope and Joy Cookies!

There are so many different reasons to give a friend cookies.

.....all the holidays

But sometimes, there isn't an occasion.

Sometimes....we just want to spread a little happiness around.

Come to think of it,

That really is the best reason of all.

Beauty School Graduate!

...ahem..

(please sing the following post to the tune of
Beauty School Dropout
from the ever fabulous musical Grease....
thank you, thank you very much)

Beauty School Graduate

Beauty school graduate,
Its graduation day for you.
Beauty school graduate,
Passed your midterms and aced shampoo!

Well you even went and took the time to wash and clean your clothes up,
After spending all that dough to learn just how to put your hair up!

Baby get moving (baby get movin'),
Let's keep your dreams and hopes alive!
What are you proving (what are you provin'),
You've got the dream and you've got the drive!

You went for your diploma, no need for the steno pool.
Pick up your teasin' comb, you're all done with this school!

Beauty school graduate (beauty school graduate),
Hanging around the corner chair.
Beauty school graduate (beauty school graduate),
It's about time you cut some hair!

Well they went and taught you everything,
And you know you're such a looker,
All these customers have come for you,
its time you had a booker!

Baby don't sweat it (don't sweat it),
You are so perfect for this job.
Better forget it (forget it),
She wants her hair cut in a bob!

Now your bangs are curled,
your lashes whirled,
and still the world is new.
Pick up your angel face and get out of this school!

Baby don't blow it,
Don't put my good advice to shame.
Baby you know it,
Eben Dear Abby'd say the same!

Now I've called the shot, get off the block, I really gotta fly!
Gotta be going to that malt shop in the sky!

Beauty school graduate (beauty school graduate),
All done with that school.
Beauty school graduate (beauty school graduate),
All done with that school.
Beauty school graduate (beauty school graduate),
All done with that school.

Congratulations Donna!

Now, Sandy needs a blow out.
Can you fit her in?

Flower Cookie Pops!

I can't think of a single lady who doesn't like flowers!

Teachers love them for teacher appreciation gifts.

Moms and Grandmothers love them for Mother's Day.

Little Ladies love them for birthdays, especially when they turn Sweet Sixteen!

The only thing better than flowers.....

Cookie flowers....on lollipop sticks!!!

You don't have to put these flowers in water....

but they are delicious with a cup of tea!

How to embarrass your tweenage son

So, I decorated these cookies late one night.

Not a whole collection,
just a couple.

I was doing some corsets for a bachelorette party and wanted to try something different.

I left them out to dry on the kitchen table, and went to bed.

The next morning was a school day.

I always try to send Ethan downstairs first, before his little brother,

so that he can get his books and lunch together

without a tornado spinning around his ankles.

Needless to say, I completely forgot about the half-dressed cookies

I left on the kitchen table....

...where he makes his lunch as soon as he gets downstairs....

AAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!

MOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!!

What The Heck!!!!

Not only was his eleven-year-old self completely mortified...

I'm reasonably sure he's convinced his mother is a freak.

Cookie Couture!

So if you have a new bag, and new sparkly shoes, you must have a new dress to go with them!

A little one shoulder number would be perfect for New Year's Eve!

Oooooooh, the perfect ensemble!

It comes in other colors as well!

I like the girly versions too, for a little less formal affair.

All joking aside....I really would be thrilled if these showed up under the tree.

Don't forget the bow!

I do!

I love to look through wedding magazines.  Even more than gossipy ones!

They're just so pretty!

Somewhere between the flowers, invitations, jewelry, parties and vacations I always end up inspired by something!!

I've been drooling over the latest Martha Stewart Wedding magazine for the past few weeks....

and couldn't stop thinking about the dresses!!

This one had pockets!!!  Pockets!!
(couldn't quite figure out how to make a cookie pocket though...)

How glamourous is this!

I could wear that to drop off the kids at school...right?
