lizy, u rock. besides being incredibly talented and artistic in the kitchen you are a kind person. at 66 i am an elder to many yet am fortunate to have many women in my life older than i. i try to hear their needs and be there when needed. it is a reward in and of myself. my 94 yo friend calls it "missionary work." i call it being kind. not everyone is. u are. kudos.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post from wonderful you! My dad just turned 88 and physically he is doing great; he is on no medication, but mentally his dementia is progressing, sadly. The last time he was with me for about a week in November and for the first time he did not remember my name, or know I was his daughter. I went in my room and cried. It's sad to lose someone while they are still here.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! This is something we all need to practice daily. Sending love and prayers your way!
ReplyDeleteWhat a touching post. I think sometimes we get so caught up in our day to day lives that we forget how important it is to do this. We are never promised tomorrows & have to make the most of today. Hugs & prayers.
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, this is something I always need to be reminded of and today I will call my 101 year old grandma! She is precious and still living on her own with no in home care!!! May parents live only a block away and are always there for her. Hugs to you.
