Mother's Day Cookies!

Mother's Day is almost here!!!

Ethan asked me the other day how Mother's Day got started.

I realized....I have no clue!

Super glad there is a Mother's Day though!

In our house, it's also known as 'Breakfast in Bed Day'.

I've always wanted to try this filigree design and I think this is the perfect occasion!

I watched SweetAmbs video tutorial about a dozen times and then.....just went for it!

She has absolutely the best video tutorials!

You can find more of them HERE!

I've already learned so much from her and I can't wait to learn more!

She makes it look sooooooo easy.

Which helped me to be brave enough to try it myself.

Here's the Instagram pic I took and posted of the process!

(I'm a little addicted to the instagram thing!
I'm at lizybbakes if you'd like to follow along!)

I hope the lucky Moms who get these know how much they are loved!!!

There's a whole big batch of them headed to

They'd be so very pretty with a big bunch of yellow roses,

or tulips,

.....Oh!  Daffodils!!!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Lizy B

  27. Your cookies are simply beautiful... stuning!

By the way... if you would like to know about how come there's a Mother's Day just google Disablot... it was the pagan festivity in honor of the Disir (female germanic goddesses) and all female ancestors and took place in pre-christian Europe every year around the autumm equinox (March 20th). It kinda change over the years but the "spirit", I mean to celebrate and honor our mothers prevails. =)

Hav' a great modern Disablot ;)
