Spiders and Web Cookies!
I'm not particularly scared of spiders,
although I know lots of people are.
For me...its the web.
As a munchkin, I saw a movie in which an entire town
was slooooooowly covered in spiderwebs.
BLECH!
As long as I can see the spider smack dab in the middle of its little home,
I'm totally fine.
But oh mercy....
..there's a grand-daddy of a web spinner that hangs out around our mailbox.
The webs are huge.
The kind of huge that makes little boys stop in their tracks in the morning
when its all covered in dew and say...
"WHOOOOOOAAAAAA!
Mom! You gotta see this!"
"Yes, thank you. I saw it yesterday, and the day before.
Sure I'll see that tomorrow too...let's move it along."
AND...that spider is NEVER there.
NEVER.
I'm sure that dang spider is hiding in the bush
just laughing his little legs off at me.
I like these two better.
Meet Lucy and Ethel.
(I happen to think they're less creepy if they have names)
Lucy and Ethel are names that definitely make spiders sound more friendly :) especially these adorable little guys! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWho could eat them now that they are named??? Ah heck, they are too cute anyway! I hear you on the spider though. I'm not really scared, but I certainly wouldn't want one as a pet or even in my house really.
ReplyDeleteThese are adorably cute, I love them!!!
ReplyDeleteVisiting you from Katherine's Corner, and wishing I had some of those cookies too. :) Happy Fall holidays!
Lucy and Ethel are adorable! I'm glad you ended this post with such a cute visual because I was getting a little creeped out imagining the empty web with the BIG spider waiting in the bushes...shivers!
