The Red Egg Party Cookies

These photos have been sitting in my computer, all queued up to show you, for months.
MONTHS!!!!
Wanna know why?
I've had a bit of a falling out with my camera. We're not on good terms. We are officially....frenemies.

These cookies I'm about to show you are quite possibly my favorites I've ever made. The background is the prettiest shade of pale ballet pink. The branches are gnarled and bumpy just like I'd hoped. The egg is actually....egg-shaped.
Unfortunately, they are also some of the worst pictures I've ever taken.
After editing them twelve million times....I've got this.

Meh.

Maybe the picture with more cookie and less background...

Nope.  Still....Meh.

(way too yellow...but if I cool down the tone, the cookies look grey)

Okay...less cropping?

Ugh.

That's actually a white platter under those cookies.

(Which I do realize is part of the problem)

I've got all the regular excuses....

It was rainy, and dark, and cold.

I have a white card reader thingy.

Can't figure out how to use the darn thing.

Have a photo box too...

That thing hates me and I knock stuff over every time I get it out.

So, I'm just going to put these out there and get on with my little cookie life.

I've made tons of cookies, TONS!

But I just couldn't get past these.

*sigh*
Hoping the party was lovely. This was a Red-Egg Party for a precious little 30 day old angel named Hannah.
And I'm sure Hannah was gorgeous in all of her pictures!

Jungle Safari Baby Shower Cookies!

When we left off, I had a jillion sports-themed baby shower cookies ready to go... then I heard about a little switch up in theme.
These gals found super cute decorations and plates they couldn't pass up.... animal print baby shower decorations and plates.
Huh.
I needed to incorporate jungle themed safari print cookies.


Admittedly, Katie was thrilled with all the sports cookies and didn't want me to change a thing.
But....I couldn't help myself.

They all worked pretty well together!




I had never made leopard cookies before, but I knew some really great ladies that had.
It was time to Google some tutorials!

I love Sweet Ambs video tutorials.
I watched her leopard print video a few times before tackling these.

So fun!
I love wet-on-wet designs for cookies.  

So that took care of leopard...but the plates were half zebra too.


One of the very first tutorials I ever watched was for Sugarbelle's zebra cookies.
Before that, I had no idea there were cookie ladies out there  who showed you how to make cute cookies and wrote blogs with lots of pictures!
Way back when I made zebra print flip-flops...

But not this time!



*pssst*
Sugarbelle also has leopard tutorials, one of which is for lingerie cookies with leopard details.
But that would have been more of a  "Here's how you got yourself into this situation" baby shower.
Adding one more theme would have done me in.




So this little tale has a moral.
Lots of themes which seemingly don't work well together...CAN!

Just change up your colors!

Katie said the shower was lots of fun and the Mama-To-Be loved everything!

I promise that's it for baby cookies for awhile.... I have a few more but I'll save them for later.

Shake, Rattle and Roll Baby Shower Cookies!

Last year I made these cookies for  Jenny of Bloom Designs Online for her sister's baby shower.

I've made quite a few sets of these since then.

She created invitations, printables and all kinds of decor to go with the theme.

I just realized the other day that I never posted them here!
Whoops!

The whole party is so super cute it makes me want to throw a baby shower.

Not for me!   We're all done here in our house.
All the bedrooms are full.

So....anyone preggers?

Baptism Cookies for a Sweet Little Boy!

This Little Man was baptized last May.

These rosary cookies are my very favorite to make for any religious occasion.

New Baby Cookies for a New Big Brother!

 Good friends of ours just had a perfect little baby boy!!

His name is Hayden (isn't that a great name!) and he is soooooo super lucky

to join their family.

Know why?

Because one of the greatest little munchkins is his new big brother!!!

(that's Gavin up there and his Mommy on his first day of preschool!!)

Gavin is so very excited to tell everyone he meets that he has a new baby!

He loves to introduce him.

But still, sometimes its hard to suddenly share Mom and Dad with a new baby.

So instead of

'Congratulations on your new baby boy' cookies....




....I made

'Congratulations!  You are a Big Brother!' cookies.

From here on out, he's no longer out numbered by parents!!



There will always be someone around to distract them while he sneaks an extra cookie!

(don't worry, I didn't tell him that....yet)

Someone to laugh at his jokes and watch movies with.

Someone who will look up to him like he's a rock star.

Someone he can look out for and watch over,

like the super great big brother he already is!

So Congratulations to Mark, Stefanie, Gavin and Hayden, on becoming

a fabulous family of four!!!
